God's law reveals that every person is guilty of sin and deserving of punishment. No one can meet God's perfect standard on their own. This guilt, however, points us to Christ, who took our punishment on the cross so we could be declared not guilty through faith in him.
Romans 8:1 means there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Even as ministers and believers struggle with the flesh, God's verdict through Christ is 'not guilty.' The call is to keep walking in the Spirit rather than staying in sin when you fall.
