Today's Scripture "That night the king could not sleep. So he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him. In those records, he discovered an account of how Mordecai had exposed the plot to assassinate King Xerxes." — Esther 6:1–2

Reflection Mordecai did something remarkable — he uncovered a plot to kill the king and reported it, saving the king's life. And then? Nothing. No reward. No recognition. No thank-you note. It looked completely forgotten.

Until one night, years later, when the king couldn't sleep.

Out of every book in the palace, he asked for the government records. Out of every page in those records, the reader landed on Mordecai's story. And the king asked, "What did we do for this man?" The answer: nothing. Not yet.

Here's the truth that runs through the whole story: what goes unnoticed by people is never forgotten by God. Mordecai's faithfulness wasn't lost — it was stored. The moment for it hadn't arrived yet.

This is the kind of God you're dealing with. He doesn't miss a thing. Not a prayer, not a sacrifice, not a quiet act of faithfulness that no one else saw. He sees it all, and he holds it all.

There's a particular kind of tired that comes not from doing too much, but from doing the right thing for too long without seeing any result.

Today's Scripture "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9

Reflection Maybe you've been praying for someone you love who seems completely unmoved. Maybe you've been faithful at work, in your marriage, in your parenting — and you feel invisible. You're not bitter, exactly. You're just worn down. And somewhere in the back of your mind, a quiet voice whispers: Does any of this even matter? Does God even see?

That voice is real. And it's worth naming honestly, because pretending it isn't there doesn't make it go away.

Mordecai lived in that tension. He did the right thing and received nothing for it. He watched the man who wanted him dead rise to power. Every day must have felt like evidence that goodness doesn't pay off.

But the story wasn't over. It just wasn't to the part yet where Mordecai could see what God was doing.

That's the hardest place to be — in the middle, where you can't yet see the ending. You're not at the beginning where hope is fresh, and you're not at the end where it all makes sense. You're just in the long, quiet middle.

And God meets you there. He doesn't require you to feel strong right now. He just asks you not to give up.

Today's Step Be honest with God today. Tell him exactly where you're tired and what you're struggling to believe. He can handle your honesty — and he's already in the middle of it with you.

Reflection It's easy to stay motivated when people notice. Appreciation fuels us. But what happens when the encouragement dries up and you're just quietly doing the work — parenting, serving, praying, trying — and no one seems to see?

The invitation today is to shift who you're doing it for.

Colossians 3 is one of the most practical verses in the Bible. It doesn't say work hard so people will notice. It says work hard as if you're working for God himself — because you are. Every load of laundry, every honest conversation, every prayer offered in an empty room, every act of kindness that goes unacknowledged — God receives it as if you handed it directly to him.

Here are a few small, concrete ways to practice this today: Do one thing well that no one will ever know you did. Pray for someone who has no idea you're praying for them. Choose integrity in a moment where cutting corners would be easy and invisible. Serve somewhere without mentioning it.

None of these are flashy. But they're the stuff of faithful lives — and faithful lives are the ones God loves to work through.

Reflection Imagine a woman who spent years quietly doing the right thing — showing kindness to a difficult neighbor, praying for a family member who wanted nothing to do with faith, staying honest in a workplace where dishonesty was rewarded. She never saw results. She wondered more than once if she was just talking to the ceiling.

Then, years later, something shifts. A conversation happens. A door opens. Someone says, "I always watched how you handled things. That's what made me want to know more."

She never knew. She couldn't have known. But God was using every quiet, faithful moment to build something she couldn't see.

This is how Romans 8:28 actually works — not as a magic formula that makes everything easy, but as a deep assurance that God is weaving even the hard, hidden, forgotten-feeling chapters into something good. Not always quickly. Not always the way we'd write it. But always purposefully.

The drunk king, the sleepless night, the boring government record — none of it looked important in the moment. But every piece was in God's hands, moving toward something that would change lives.

Your unseen faithfulness is in those same hands right now.

Reflection This week we've been sitting with one steady truth: what goes unnoticed by people is never forgotten by God. We've seen it in Mordecai's story — the quiet act of faithfulness that seemed lost, the sleepless night that turned everything around, the way God used the most ordinary circumstances to bring about something extraordinary.

And now the weekend is here. Life will get loud again. The to-do list will fill back up. The people around you may or may not notice the effort you're putting in. The prayers you've been praying may still feel unanswered.

Don't throw away your confidence.

That phrase from Hebrews is so honest — it assumes you'll be tempted to. It assumes there will be moments when giving up feels more logical than pressing on. And it says: don't. Keep going. Keep praying. Keep serving. Keep doing the right thing even when it's quiet and invisible and unrewarded.

Because God isn't finished yet. He wasn't finished with Mordecai in the silence, and he's not finished with you in yours. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead — who turned the worst Friday in history into the greatest Sunday — is actively working in your story right now.
