An Open Door Is Waiting
Monday — Understanding the Truth
Have you ever stood in front of a door and wondered whether to walk through it — not because it was locked, but because you weren't sure what was on the other side?
Today's Scripture "Behold, I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name." — Revelation 3:8
Reflection Jesus spoke these words to a small, ordinary church in a city called Philadelphia. They weren't powerful. They didn't have impressive resources or a long list of accomplishments. By most measures, they looked like a church that could easily be overlooked.
But God saw them differently. He saw a people who had stayed faithful — who hadn't compromised what they believed or walked away from what they knew was true. And to them, he made a remarkable promise: I have set an open door before you.
An open door, in the simplest terms, is an opportunity. It's God saying, There's somewhere I want you to go, something I want you to do — and I've already made the way. The door isn't locked. It isn't blocked. It's standing open, waiting.
This is the kind of God we serve. Not one who sets impossible standards and walks away, but one who prepares the path and then invites us to step forward. He sees your faithfulness — even when it feels small — and he doesn't waste it.

Most of us, if we're honest, have talked ourselves out of something good because we didn't feel ready, capable, or equipped enough.
Today's Scripture "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?" — Romans 8:31–32
Reflection Here's the honest struggle with open doors: they require you to actually walk through them. And that's where things get complicated.
Maybe you've sensed God nudging you toward something — a new step of faith, a relationship to mend, a calling you've been putting off — and instead of moving forward, you've stayed right where you are. Not out of laziness, but out of a very real feeling that you just don't have enough. Enough confidence. Enough resources. Enough faith.
The church in Philadelphia knew that feeling. Jesus himself acknowledged it — you have but little power. He wasn't being harsh. He was being honest. And here's the remarkable thing: he opened the door anyway. Their smallness didn't disqualify them. It just meant they'd have to trust that the power behind the door wasn't coming from them.
That's the invitation for you today too. The obstacles are real. The doubts are real. But so is the God who says, If I am for you, who can stand against you? You don't have to manufacture strength you don't have. You just have to stay connected to the One who has more than enough.

Reflection There's a simple but easy-to-miss truth in today's scripture: holding fast isn't passive. It's an active, daily choice to stay connected — to God's word, to prayer, to the community of people who remind you what you believe and why it matters.
Walking through an open door takes preparation. It takes showing up before the opportunity arrives. Here are a few honest, practical ways to do that today:
Spend a few minutes in the Word. Not to check a box, but to stay oriented. God's word doesn't change even when everything around you does, and reading it keeps you anchored to what's true.
Pray specifically. Not just general prayers, but targeted ones: God, show me the doors you're opening. Give me the courage to step through them. Ask him to make you attentive to his leading.
Don't go it alone. The church in Philadelphia wasn't a lone individual — it was a community. Find even one person you can share your hopes and doubts with this week. Connection fuels courage.
Refuse to give up prematurely. Galatians 6:9 promises that in due season, we will reap if we do not give up. Holding fast means deciding in advance that you won't quit when things get hard.

Thursday — What This Looks Like in Real Life
Sometimes the thing standing between where you are and where God is calling you isn't a mountain — it's a loose connection.
Today's Scripture "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9
Reflection Imagine a missionary arriving on a remote field with almost nothing — a worn suitcase, a calling, and a beat-up car that won't start unless you push it downhill or round up enough children to give it a running shove.
For years, that's how it worked. Push, pop the clutch, go. It was exhausting and inconvenient, but it became normal. Just part of the deal.
Then one day a new missionary arrived. He walked over to the car, lifted the hood, looked around for a few minutes, and wiggled a wire. Then he got in, turned the key, and the engine started right up.
The problem was never the engine. It was a loose connection to the battery.
That image has a way of staying with you. How often do we exhaust ourselves pushing and straining — in our faith, our relationships, our purpose — when the real issue is that we've drifted from our source of power? We try harder instead of reconnecting deeper.
Maybe you've been in a season like that. Running on empty, wondering why everything feels like an uphill push. The invitation today isn't to try harder. It's to check the connection — to return to God, to his word, to honest prayer — and let him be what he's always been: the power behind everything he's called you to do.
Today's Step Ask yourself honestly: Where have I been relying on my own strength instead of staying connected to God?

Hold On — Something Good Is Coming
Friday — Carrying It Forward
The week is almost done, and maybe it's been harder than you expected. That's exactly why today's word matters.
Today's Scripture "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good." — Romans 12:9
Reflection All week, we've been sitting with one central truth: God opens doors, and he invites us — even in our smallness, even in our weariness — to walk through them.
That truth doesn't expire on Friday.
As you head into the weekend, you'll likely face the same pull that shows up every week: the temptation to drift, to let go, to quietly talk yourself into believing that nothing you do really matters. The world is loud, and it has a way of making faithfulness feel pointless.
But here's what we've seen this week: the church in Philadelphia wasn't impressive by any visible measure. They had little power. They faced real opposition. And yet Jesus looked at them and said, I see you. I've opened a door for you. Hold fast.
He says the same to you.
Hold fast to what you know is true. Hold fast to the God who hasn't let go of you. Don't quit on the calling, the relationship, the step of faith you've been inching toward. In due season — in God's timing — the faithfulness you're living out right now will bear fruit you can't yet see.
The door is open. It's been open all week. Keep walking toward it.
